Dorothy A. Nemitz, age 88, Of Reedsburg, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the Sauk County Health Care Center in Reedsburg. She was born September 10, 1929 in Plymouth Township, Juneau County, WI the daughter of Raymond and Beatrice (Crawford) Engel. Dorothy was united in marriage to Ernest A. Nemitz on June 12, 1948.

Dorothy was an active member of the St. Paul’s. Hillpoint, Ladies Aid. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and crocheting. She loved to read mysteries, bird watching and enjoyed watching Westerns with her son Richard.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest on Jan. 8, 1994; grandson, Christopher Miller and brother, Raymond Engel.

She is survived by her children, Carl (Maria) Nemitz of Reedsburg,
Ernest ‘Richard’ (Theresa) Nemitz of Reedsburg,
Karen (Roman) Bollig of Lyndon Station,
Wayne (Diane) Nemitz of La Valle,
David (Reona) Nemitz of La Valle,
Sandra (Jerry Treptow) Nemitz of La Valle,
Neal (Lori) Nemitz of Elroy;

25 Grandchildren;

40 Great Grandchildren;

6 Great-Great Grandchildren;

Sister-in-laws, Veronica Nemitz of Broadhead,
Betty Engel of Janesville;

Along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Dorothy A. Nemitz will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Big Creek, WI with Pastor Tim Anderson and Pastor Robert Butler co-officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the Farber Funeral Home and again on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place in the Oak Lawn Cemetery in La Valle following the service. Lunch will be held at the Summit Ridge following the burial.
