Edward Martin Steeb, age 70, of Madison, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, March 31, 2018, after a long struggle with his health. Ed was born on October 19, 1947, in Indianapolis, IN, the son of Edward and Rosemary (Wolsiffer) Steeb. Ed proudly served his country in the US Army in Vietnam. Ed was a Journeyman Carpenter by trade, and was a small business owner. He was a proud member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and American Local Union #314.
Ed was an avid gamer; he had a love for travel; history, especially WWII; mathematics and the sciences. He started a book club and often played cards and Scrabble at the local senior center. Ed had a brilliant mind and was a great conversationalist-often taking the contrarian point of view. Ed loved to dance and was an avid Packer and Badger fan. He was friends to many and respected by most, and always put others first. Above all, he loved and cherished his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy Joseph Steeb; and brother-in-law, Robert Debrota.
Edward is survived by his daughters, Jenniffer (Amanda) Steeb of Eagle River, AK, Jodie (Carl) Cook, and Joshua and Cole, of Reedsburg, and Tracy (Chris) Chalupa, and Victoria, Colin and Aliah, of Davenport, IA; four sisters: Arlene (Robert) Sircy of Columbia, SC, Dorothy (David) Burns of Browntown, IN, Helen Debrota of Beach Grove, IN, and Martha Dunham of Indianapolis, IN. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, his condo family at the Point at Richmond Hill, and many friends.
