Richard B.  Larsen
Richard Barnholt Larsen, 81, of Wisconsin Dells, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018, at St Clare Meadows Nursing Home in Baraboo. He was born September 15, 1936 in Chicago, IL the son of Hans and Mae (Engebretson) Larsen. Richard was the beloved husband of Darlene (Baumann) Larsen, who he married on July 14, 2012. He was the loving father of Laura (Tom) Frank of New Berlin, Brian (Jodi) Larsen of Waterford, Erik Larsen of Bozeman, MT. Proud grandpa of Cassandra, Madeline, Aaron and Averi, and step-father of Jackie (Terry) Stoner. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, family, Marine Corp. buddies and friends.
Richard proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps and was a founder of the Marine Corp League Eagle’s Nest Detachment. He was employed by General Electric for over 30 years in engineering and sales. Richard was a faithful member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, in Baraboo, for many years. He enjoyed traveling north to the lake and hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, of 43 years, Sue (Drengenberg) Larsen, in 2005. He was also preceded by his parents; sister, Sonya (Larsen) Brendelson, and his step-daughter Kristine McKinzey. His sister, Kristine Kujawa, passed away shortly after Richard’s death.
Funeral Services for Richard B. Larsen will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at 10:00 am, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Baraboo with Pastor Douglas Fauth officiating. Military Honors will follow services at church. Burial will follow at 2:00PM at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.
A memorial fund has been established in his name for the Marine Corps League Eagle’s Nest Detachment.
Farber Funeral Home of Reedsburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
