James DeLloyd Schultz, age 88, of La Valle, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the WI Veterans Home in King. He was born on March 6, 1930 in Brandon, WI, the son of the late Otto and Gertrude H. (Wallschlaeger) Schultz. James proudly served his country in the US Army. He was a Sgt. In active duty in the Korean War from 1951-1952. He was a surveyor with the 2nd Infantry Division, 37th Field Infantry Battalion Unit that captured Heartbreak Ridge and took Old Baldy. James was united in marriage to Katharine Gasser on May 16, 1992, in Reedsburg, WI. James enjoyed hunting, fishing playing cards and spending time at his cabin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Katharine on November 30, 2007; 2 grandsons, Joseph and Andy and step-daughter, Cindy Gasser; and siblings: Audean, Allen, Omar, Janis and Donald.

Step-Children: Leonard (Marianne) Gasser of La Valle,
Judy (Larry) Schultz of Reedsburg,
Patti (C.B.) Fuhrman of Reedsburg,
Sandy Cole of Reedsburg;
10 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; 10 Step Grandchildren; 9 Step Great Grandchildren; first wife, Donna J. Thompson Schultz; along with numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A heartfelt thank you to the VA King staff for their special care of our Dad, James.

Funeral Services for James D. Schultz will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg with Reverend Dave Mower officiating. Burial with Military Honors will take place in Oak Lawn Cemetery in La Valle following the service. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
