Obituary for Florence N. Nee

Florence Neomi Nee, age 82, of Richland Center, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at the University Hospital in Madison. She was born on February 11, 1936, the daughter of Arthur Rudolf and Bertha Wilhemina Karoline (Hammermeister) Brandt. On June 7, 1952, Florence was united in marriage to John A. Nee. This marriage was blessed with seven children. Florence was employed as a Nurses Aid before obtaining her Associates Degree in Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse at the Richland Hospital for several years and also worked as a RN in area nursing homes. Florence was also employed as an EMT for 25 years. She later taught school for 12 years at the Richland Christian Academy. Florence was an active member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Hillpoint. There she was a member of the Ladies Aid and Altar Guild and served in various areas within the church. She sang high soprano in the Messiah and was a member of the Richland Community Choir. She loved music and enjoyed attending concerts, listening to pipe organ music and public radio. Florence enjoyed working with her hands. She completed search puzzles, and was a knitter and seamstress. She was talented in arranging flowers, enjoyed bird watching, and above all, cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; still born twin sisters, Doris and Delores Brandt; and new born daughter, Ruth Louise Nee; stillborn grandson, Alan Nee; and aunt, Frona (Emmanuel) Tietz.
Florence is survived by her husband, John;
Children: Karoline Nee, John A Jr. (Amy) Nee, Linda, Paula, Peter, and Faith Nee;
Grandchildren: Elizabeth, Katharine, John A. III, Dara;
Sister, Lucille (John) Roediger;
Brother, Rudy (Joanne) Brandt;
Nephews: David (Patty) Roediger, Kevin Brandt, Tim (Paula) Brandt;
Nieces, Denise (Matt) Van Etten, Laura (Larry) Marnholtz,
Kristy (Gary) Mangerson; along with many nieces and nephews on the Nee family side.
Funeral services for Florence N. Nee will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Hillpoint, with Pastor Timothy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, and on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
